To be delusional is to be characterized by holding false beliefs or judgments about external reality that are held despite incontrovertible evidence to the contrary, as a symptom of serious mental illness.

Oftentimes, there are trends and normalcies created in our society that lead us further into sin than we ever thought imaginable. In our modern culture, it is normal to feed into the delusions that things in our lives are far more developed than they actually are. Whether that be relationships, within our jobs, or within our personal growth, I think we have all fallen victim to delusion at some point or another.

This piece was created when I was in a season where crushes were the only thing on my mind. Little did I know that would lead to severe episodes of infatuation and feeding into delusion. I began putting my identity into what boys thought about me, instead of what the Creator of the Universe had to say. This piece was my way of expressing the chaos, excitement, and complete overwhelm that feeding into delusions and idolatry can feel and look like.

The Lord reminds us to hold fast to what is true and to trust the reality that He will lead us where we are needed! He has great plans for you, for your future, for your relationships. It is not your job to dream about a future that the Lord has not yet given you. So, if you're feeding into those delusions, let this be your reminder to give it to God instead!
